2. Legal bases
We process personal data only where the GDPR allows it: to perform a contract or take steps before one (Art. 6 (1)(b)), to meet legal obligations such as tax retention (Art. 6 (1)(c)), on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f)), or with your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
3. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you visit it, the server records technical data such as IP address, browser, operating system, referring page and time of access, to deliver the site securely and fix errors (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Netlify processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms (Art. 28 GDPR) and keeps the logs only as long as needed for these purposes. Netlify is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
4. Encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by "https://" and the lock icon in your browser.
5. Contact by email or WhatsApp Business
If you contact us, we process your details and message to answer your request and, where relevant, to prepare a collaboration (Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Emails are handled via Google Workspace / Gmail (Google Ireland Ltd.). Our phone number is reachable via WhatsApp Business only (messages, no calls). WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. / Meta. Both providers may transfer data to the USA (see section 8). If you prefer not to use WhatsApp, please contact us by email.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools. Nothing is stored on your device that would require consent (§ 25 TDDDG / Art. 5 (3) ePrivacy Directive).
7. Fonts and external links
Fonts are hosted locally on our server; no connection to Google is made when the page loads. The website contains no social media plugins or embedded third-party content. External links only transfer data once you click them; the linked provider's privacy policy then applies.
8. Recipients and transfers outside the EU
Data is only passed on to the service providers named here (hosting, email, messaging) and to authorities where the law requires it. Jetlagged Palate LLC is established in the USA (Wyoming). Where data is processed outside the EU/EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision (e.g. the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified US providers) or EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 44 ff. GDPR).
9. Storage period
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for. Business correspondence and invoices are kept for the statutory retention periods (up to 6 or 10 years under tax and commercial law) and then deleted.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to withdraw consent (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). To exercise your rights, email jetlaggedpalate@gmail.com.
11. Right to object
Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
12. Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
13. Required data and automated decisions
You are not obliged to provide personal data; without it we may not be able to answer a request or work together. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling (Art. 22 GDPR).
14. Changes
We update this policy when our website or the law changes. The version published here always applies.
